The Cedar County Collector's Office provides taxpayers the option of paying
their taxes online. Payments for current and delinquent real estate and personal
property taxes are accepted online. Please note that the most delinquent year
tax must be paid before current years. Taxpayers may pay these taxes online with
a credit card or via electronic check. Credit cards accepted are American
Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. A convenience fee will apply to
each transaction when using this service. The Collector's Office does not charge
or retain any of the transaction fees. Before finalizing your transaction you
will be asked to agree to the fee amount added.
The fee amounts for credit cards are 2.50% of the total tax amount.
When making a tax payment online, please print the paid receipts for your records.
Payments will be considered paid as of the date the payment is made. A paid
receipt will be mailed to the address on record. The Department of Revenue will
only accept a paid tax statement from the Cedar County Collector's office. If
you need a faster turn around time, you can pay, in person, at our office.
This service will be down each night from 1am to 2am for maintenance.
The online tax payment system depends on the successful operation of many
electronic systems and devices, many of which are beyond the control of the
Collector's Office. We cannot guarantee the availability of the online tax
payment system at all times. We highly recommend that you do not wait until the
last minute in order pay your taxes online. The Collector's Office can not be
responsible for any late charges or penalties resulting from the unavailability of
the online tax payment system.
